Bought these to test with my various steel magazines, which fully loaded and with their own "anti tilt followers" wouldn't seat on a closed bolt without a serious hit. On an open bolt, they would not fully chamber a round, both from using the bolt-catch release, and from pulling the charging handle to the rear before letting go.
Replaced all the followers with these Magpul followers, and all of those problems went away.

I have a great many thirty round GI issue magazines of various generations. Some are reliable...some are not. I replaced the followers in the "iffy" mags (some green...some older) with the Magpul third generation product and experienced instant one hundred percent reliability in every case. These things are just the ticket for rejuvenating your practice mags and the are indispensible for duty mags.

Best followers on the market period! I have shot many rounds out of my mags with these and there have yet to be any problems as a result of the mags anymore. With the old green followers this was not the case. If you want to upgrade your GI Mags look no further.

I am in the Marine Corps, so you can expect that I put my M4 mags through hell. On multiple occasions I have tested my issued mags with both the stock green follower and with the Magpul follower. I tried very hard to get the mags to fail, short of destroying them entirely. With the stock followers it is not too difficult to induce a feeding problem, I have yet to have a malfunction with the magpul followers. I trust my life to them. I have replaced all of the followers in every one of my mags with magpul enhanced self leveling followers. I highly recommend them if you ever expect to trust your life to your weapon.
