Easy Install !!

Two Piece tactical handguards made for an AR15 with a carbine length gas system. This 2 piece non free float model features rails that extend past the front sight base. Perfect for those that prefer to run lights, LAMs or other accessories farther out on the weapon.

Made by MI (Midwest Industries, Inc.) CNC machined from aircraft grade lightweight aluminum and hard coat anodized to milspec. Features USGI type laser etched T-marks to provide addressing for mounting and remounting accessories.

These AR15 carbine handguards provide a modular platform for mounting of tactical accessories such as vertical grips, laser sights, LAMs, flashlights, sling mounts, bipods, and optics. These handguards simply snap in place of your standard plastic handguards and lock up tight! Because of this easy installation, they can be easily removed when cleaning and maintaining the rifle. A bayonet can still be mounted with this handguard design. (This is not a free float design).

Please Note: There are currently two Carbine #17X models available. Because Colt uses a slightly different shaped handguard cap, there is a model #17X for carbine uppers other than Colt, and a model #17XC for Colt carbine uppers.

Fits tight and was quick to install.
I did however have to modify my YHM fold down front sight in order to put the MI handguard on. The release button for the YHM had to be ground off on the bottom side in order to clear the handguard.
But it works great now. I love it. The MI 17X gives me more options of where to mount my many acessories .

Easy installation with a good tight fit. Lightweight and looks right at home on my Bushmaster. I was surprised to feel how much heat escapes. I needed to purchase rail covers to help protect my hand. All in all, I'm quite satisfied especially compared to some of the other high $ units I could've purchased.

Nice little set here. Well machined. Tight fit. Well worth your money for fit and function. These guards will never see duty use so as to future durablitly I don't know. MI customer service was un effing believably caring and quick. When installing, found out you have to pop the upper guard into place with your towel wrapped fist b/c they fit so tight which is what you want. If you have a rail top gas block, you can't use the block for ANYTHING once these guards are on. You'll need a rail height sight not gas block height sight or buy standard length guards. Trust me! Wish I'd know that before buying a gas block flip front.
