As
a student of shooting, you know that the real difference in skill shows
up when you compare time-to-hit. You also know that the only way to
improve your hit time is by diligent practice. The problem is that
without a timer you have no way of knowing if you are moving toward you
goal of hitting more quickly or sliding back. Of course any timer will
give you your shot time, but you are really looking for more then that.
You want a timer that teaches you what you need to know about your
shooting in a simple and straightforward manner allowing you to focus
on your shooting instead of jacking around with your timer.
"...As usual PACT is ahead of the competition in products and services.
As a club president, match director and chief-range officer, I have
used all of the various timers and I have to tell you that PACT is the
best. Thank you."
The Club Timer III is carefully designed with this mission in mind. It will tell you
everything you need to know about most strings at a glance with no
button pushing at all. If you do want to review your individual shot
times, it will display all the shot info at once (Shot number, split
time, total time) so you don't have to page back and forth in some sort
of VCR programming drill.
The
original PACT Club Timer was designed as a rugged, inexpensive timer
that was simple to operate and contains all the features needed to run
matches without the advanced training software, keyboard and display of
the Championship Timer. We've kept track of your compliments and
criticisms of the Club Timer, as we do with all our products, and
incorporated several software changes you've requested over the years.
Now we've decided to take the next step. We've thrown away the mold
(literally) and started with a clean sheet of paper.
OK...OK We hear you, you want us to speak up. You got it. Way back, 1982 or so, there were some
really great buzzers. Unfortunately the specs changed for smoke
alarm's, and those went away. The buzzer used in almost all the small
shooting timers, including the original Club Timer II, really was the
loudest commercially available low frequency buzzer on the market - but
they just aren't loud enough. We went on a quest to come up with a
better buzzer, and after testing dozens of them over the course of a
year we were not impressed - so we decided to make our own. You will be
pleased with the results. The
Club Timer III is designed to fit the hand. Both the buzzer and
microphone are located to the side of the timer, away from your hand,
to minimize the possibility of blocking them. All the control buttons
are recessed below the top of the Club Timer III so that there is no
chance of accidentally pressing them as you run with the timer. Yet,
when you want to press them, you'll find they fall naturally under your
fingers - no more hunting for the GO button. And speaking of buttons,
we've gone to a custom sealed conductive rubber keypad (the same type
we use on the MKIV) along with corrosion proof contacts. The Club Timer III is the very best choice for Club shoots
because it is so simple and straight forward to use. The rugged, impact
resistant case is ergonomically designed to be easy to carry or the
stainless steel clip will securely hold the unit onto your belt for
individual practice sessions. The large, can’t miss GO button can be
set for either Delay or Instant operation. Delay Mode allows a delay
from 2 to 3.5 seconds before the extra loud buzzer rings. In Instant
Mode the Go button is pressed and held on the “Are You Ready?” command
and the buzzer will sound instantly when the GO button is released. All
critical shot information is shown on the digital, easy-to-read
display, which can be set quickly to function in one of three different
modes. Timer Mode: Displays the number of shots and time between shots,
from first to last. Review Mode: Shows incremental times from the first
to the last shot fired. Set Mode: Used to switch between Delay and
Instant and enter or clear a PAR time. Uses a single, 9-volt battery (included), with auto power down after 15 minutes.
