Just like the other shooter I had my heat shields come off within the first 100 rounds and rattle around inside the hand guards. Even before they began to rattle around I was not impressed about how they had a lot of movement. In addition there is a lot of extra plastic flashing on mine on the sharp edges. Not a quality piece, but then again maybe I am being spoiled by the BCM M4 hand guards I have on my carbine length 16 inch. Ordering a set of Cavalry Arms C6 hand guards which I have heard good things about but I wish BCM sold them instead of these.

Great Handguards |

Have had no problem with these after several thousand rounds. Very secure - and very happy with the fit & finish. For my stripped down BCM middy fighting rifle they are near perfect (Iron sights rifle).

heatshields need redesigned |

I had these originally on my midlength build, but after about 100 rounds the heat shields came loose and would move around within the HG and rattle.
Unless you are seriously set on this profile for your HG's, I would seriously consider the Cavalry Arms oval HG's instead. which are what I bought to replace these. The heat shields are rock solid and would need considerable force to move them. 1,000 rounds and they are still rock solid
